Tour Synopsis

This 10-day immersive Kyrgyz itinerary explores the nation’s dramatic landscapes and deep nomadic roots. Beginning in Bishkek, travelers will hike alpine gorges, cruise the massive Lake Issyk-Kul, and witness eagle hunting. Accommodation in traditional yurts follows visits to ancient petroglyphs, the historic Burana Tower, and the remote Tash Rabat stone caravanserai.

Tour Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Bishkek
• City Highlights: Victory Square, Oak Park, Ala-Too Square, National Philharmonic, Asian Bazaar.
• Experience: Dive into the vibrant soul of the capital. Capture the dynamic colors of the Asian Bazaar, a bustling tapestry of local life and Kyrgyz trade.
Day 2: Bishkek – Ala Archa – Burana – Chon Kemin
• Natural & Historic Icons: Ala Archa National Park, Burana Tower, Open-air Museum of Balbals.
• Experience: Hike through a pristine alpine gorge before standing atop a 1,000-year-old minaret to view the valley exactly as Silk Road merchants once did.
Day 3: Chon Kemin – Issyk Kul (North Shore)
• The Pearl of Asia: Issyk Kul Lake, Shamanic Petroglyphs (800 B.C.), Ethnography Museum, Boat Cruise.
• Experience: Relax on the curative salty waters of the world’s second-largest alpine lake. A private boat cruise offers a serene perspective of the surrounding celestial mountains.
Day 4: Issyk Kul Lake – Karakol
• Cultural Crossroads: Dungan Mosque, Old Wooden Orthodox Church.
• Experience: Discover the architectural fusion of Karakol, featuring a Chinese-style mosque built without a single metal nail and the intricate carvings of the Russian Orthodox Church.
Day 5: Karakol – Jeti Oguz – Skazka – Ak Sai Canyons

Day 6: Ak Sai Canyons – Kochkor

• Experience: Enjoy a relaxed hike through wind-sculpted natural sculptures in an untouched setting, ending the day in a traditional rural mountain valley.
Day 7: Kochkor – Tash Rabat
• Crafts & Castles: Felt making masterclass, Tash Rabat Caravanserai (Stone Castle).
• Experience: Learn the art of felt beating from a local family to create your own carpet. Later, explore the 14th-century mountain fortress of Tash Rabat, featuring 1-meter thick walls and ancient prison cells.
Day 8: Tash Rabat – Son Kul Lake
• Nomadic Heart: High-altitude pastures and traditional yurts.
• Experience: Immerse yourself in the "Jewel of Kyrgyzstan." Spend the night in a traditional felt yurt, witnessing the daily life of herders in a landscape untouched by modern civilization.
Day 9: Son Kul – Kalmak Ashu Pass – Bishkek
• Alpine Transit: Scenic drive over Kalmak Ashu pass (3,225m).
• Experience: Experience the breathtaking scale of the Tien Shan mountains on your final mountain drive before returning to the comfort of the city.
Day 10: Bishkek – Departure
