Guests are picked up from their hotel for a scenic drive to Semenggoh Forest Reserve, where they can observe semi-wild orangutans at a renowned rehabilitation center. After a ranger briefing and wildlife viewing, the journey continues to the Annah Rais Bidayuh Longhouse, home to over 80 families. Guests are welcomed with traditional Tuak rice wine and guided through the village to learn about Bidayuh culture, architecture, and farming traditions. The experience concludes with an authentic ethnic lunch featuring Ayam Pansuh (bamboo chicken) and wild jungle vegetables, served on the longhouse patio.

Guests will be picked up from their hotel between 7:30–8:00 AM, followed by a scenic 40-minute drive to the beautiful Semenggoh Forest Reserve. This reserve offers a wonderful opportunity to observe semi-wild orangutans in their natural environment. The rehabilitation center accepts orphaned or rescued orangutans and prepares them for life in the wild. More than 20 orangutans reside in the forest surrounding the reserve and often return to the center for feeding.

Guests may watch the orangutans descend from the surrounding forest to the feeding platform, which is set within a natural amphitheater. Upon arrival, the rangers will brief guests on the purpose and objectives of the center. Your guide will also point out any orangutans visible from the trails.

After the Orangutan Tour, guests will enjoy another 40-minute scenic drive to the Annah Rais Bidayuh Longhouse, taking in the beautiful landscapes of Sarawak along the way. Upon arrival, guests will be welcomed with the village’s traditional rice wine, Tuak. The longhouse is home to over 80 families.

Guests will then explore this historic Bidayuh village and learn about the culture of the Land Dayaks, who were once renowned headhunters. Together with your guide, you will discover the longhouse’s unique cultural and architectural features and gain insight into the Bidayuh community’s traditional farming lifestyle, including their distinctive use of bamboo.

The experience continues with a serving of freshly cooked bamboo chicken (Ayam Pansuh) and wild jungle vegetables, enjoyed on the longhouse’s Sanju (patio). This delicious meal offers an authentic taste of Sarawak’s ethnic cuisine, lovingly prepared by the local community.
